Welcome to Rosemary's Office
Respectful Therapy Fully Individualized
Because your life isn't like anyone else's your therapy shouldn't be either.
Often, I bring my Tonkinese cats, Zoe and Jump, to the office. Please let me know
(before your appointment) if you are allergic to, are afraid of, or if you dislike cats.
The most common complaint from people who have been disappointed with
previous therapy experiences is they feel therapists have been too passive or
unemotional, and just repeat back what the client says or asks "how does that
make you feel?" Many have told me that they get more from talking with a friend.
They want a professional who is knowledgeable, non-judgemental, and emotionally
responsive who will also offer opinions and direction when appropriate.

There are many styles of therapist behavior; the passive reflective stance is just
one.

My style is active, empathic, and responsive. I let you know who I am and what I
think and feel. I tell you how I think and why. I involve you in choosing the best
approaches to your problems and encourage feedback (both positive and negative)
so we can make course corrections when needed.
You may bring a friend, family member or an
important pet to your sessions when you need
to.

Every part of your life is important to your
therapy.

I will work with your other treatment providers,
school,  employer, family, attorney, pastor,
priest, bishop, or rabbi to help you get the best
care possible.
What's Different?
